So Clutch

While a big, roomy bag is perfect for toting all the important stuff like your day planner, a book or even a first aid kit (not kidding!), not all occasions call for a massive carry-on. Now and then a girl needs a simple clutch to hold just the essentials, so today I thought I’d share with you some of my favorites from my very own collection. All very affordable and some even helping save the world!

1. Send the Trend – envelope style, edgy zippers, optional straps, structured.

2. Red Velvet Clutch – fun design, center of attention yet neutral vibe, versatile.

3. Handbag Heaven Clutch – roomy, color block, neutral color.

4. Purse and Clutch – fair trade, economically friendly materials, fun, eclectic design.

5. Big Buddha Clutch – neutral color, fun bow detailing, versatile.

6. Aldo clutch – metallic trend, options straps, neutral color.

Fresh Perspective

One can easily reinvent a cotton summer dress into a work appropriate piece by simply adding a few key accessories. An effortless way to elevate a look can be as simple as slipping on a blazer, like I did here. No muss, no fuss! This chevron printed number was picked up from my local Target a couple weeks ago and I’m not regretting my decision one bit. It has easily transitioned from the office to the weekend in a matter of minutes. Remove the blazer, swap the sparkly bauble for fun sunnies, ditch the oxfords for sandals and exchange the clutch for a little fringe. Voilà, a fresh perspective on a summer staple!

In semi-related news, I’ve come to the realization that I need a fresh perspective on my wardrobe? I can’t seem to get inspired by the items that are already hanging in my closet. I seem to be adding new items, only to wait weeks before they actually get worn. A responsible adult this does not make, nor a responsible blogger, especially one that prides herself on not only her remixing abilities but her budget conscious blog!? So expect a 30 for 30 remix challenge here on the blog a la Kendi Everyday real soon. Jill recently tweeted that she will be doing the same, so make sure to keep up with your progress too. August 1st, are you down?

3 Things

So I’m back with an outfit post! Not the most swoon worthy ensemble I’ve ever worn but definitely something I like and feel comfortable in. Please forgive me for my lack of inspiration and pizazz this week, I’m still on vacation time as you can tell by the maxi dress. To divert from the lackluster get-up let’s get to know each other! My favorite morning radio station here in Phoenix, John Jay and Rich, has this bit called 3 Things. Basically you share 3 things you’re obsessed with right now. The only caveat is that you can’t say family and/or significant others. That’s it! An easy way to get to know each other a little better. These are my 3 things:

  1. Reading. The last couple of months I’ve been reading nonstop, specifically trilogies (The Hunger Games, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and most recently Fifty Shades of Grey). Next up: The Lost Symbol. Any other recommendations?
  2. Copper jewelry. I seriously went overboard with the copper cuffs during my road trip, as you can tell by this outfit.
  3. Blogging. I seriously love it. Reading blogs and finding new ones. Working on mine and trying to grow it.

Now it’s your turn! Leave a comment with 3 things you’re currently obsessed with. Dish!

Thank you to everyone who entered! Record breaking numbers here on FabAve! The winner is….LINDSAY of Lindsay J Everyday! I’ll email you shortly! Congrats girly!

Easy Peasy

So yesterday I reentered the workforce and boy was it rough. 213 emails and a case of the Monday’s will stress a girl out. So a simple, easy outfit was in order. As you can tell I’m a sucker for Kohl’s, more specifically the celebrity LC Lauren Conrad collection. All of her pieces are so young and feminine and easily affordable for the fabulously average female. I was still feeling a little off but nothing a few polka dots, pleats and a cream blazer couldn’t fix! Add some gold detailing and I was ready to go.

Oh and I want to wish the fella a happy birthday! Today he turns the big 2-7! He is officially dating a younger woman. However that doesn’t last for long, as my birthday is a couple weeks away. Nevertheless I am currently younger…HA!
