Real Girl Style

 photo IMG_4140_zpsdc04b2da.jpg

Lately I’ve found myself posting outfit that I’m just not proud of. After expressing some of my frustrations in Tuesday’s post I realized that that outfit in particular was one that could have skipped the publish button. Yes, my wardrobe might not be as expansive right now as the next girl but I’ve got to get it together and editing what I publish here on FabAve. I want to be proud of this little corner of the internet. Where has all the editing gone? I understand that I don’t have to post on a daily basis and this blog is geared toward real girl style but I’ve seriously got gain perspective again.

With all that said, here’s a real girl outfit that I do love. I like the layering effect of this look and if you haven’t noticed already I’m a fan of tighter tanks and tops around my belly. I love displaying the bump! If you’ve got it, flaunt it, am I right?

Millage

Last Fall/Winter here on FabAve, I was obsessed with layering oxford shirts with sweaters (see evidence here and here,). This time around, I’m still obsessed but realizing that I’ll have to wait a little while longer before I consider long sleeve layering tactics. Enter the handy dandy sleeveless button up! My previous infatuation for this piece of clothing will continue well into the coming seasons and I couldn’t be happier. For those living in warmer climates like myself, consider sleeveless button-ups an essential must-have while we’re in this transition. A great way to get additional mileage out of a seasonal wardrobe piece.

FabAve Special

Happy Tuesday my lovelies!  I hope you were able to catch my recap on the PHXFW Shop Garment District event I attended last Friday. It seriously was a great event and I’m happy I was able to attend with local bloggers Angela and Kristianne. If you follow me on the Twitter, then you saw a sneak peek of what I wore to the soiree. But for those who don’t follow along via Twitter or Instagram here it is, quite possibly my all time favorite ensemble! It has all the elements I look for in an outfit: feminine flair with a touch of edge. Add a couple trendy elements (florals, neon, and peplum) and you’ve got yourself a FabAve special! Not to be confused with red light special my friends, I’m pretty sure my younger sister reads this blog so let’s keep things PG.

*Editors Note: upon writing this post I Googled ‘Red Light Special’. DON’T DO IT! It’s disgusting and not appropriate for young, impressionable minds. Please and thank you!

So Clutch

While a big, roomy bag is perfect for toting all the important stuff like your day planner, a book or even a first aid kit (not kidding!), not all occasions call for a massive carry-on. Now and then a girl needs a simple clutch to hold just the essentials, so today I thought I’d share with you some of my favorites from my very own collection. All very affordable and some even helping save the world!

1. Send the Trend – envelope style, edgy zippers, optional straps, structured.

2. Red Velvet Clutch – fun design, center of attention yet neutral vibe, versatile.

3. Handbag Heaven Clutch – roomy, color block, neutral color.

4. Purse and Clutch – fair trade, economically friendly materials, fun, eclectic design.

5. Big Buddha Clutch – neutral color, fun bow detailing, versatile.

6. Aldo clutch – metallic trend, options straps, neutral color.

Welcome!
